I am sure you have heard endlessly from your children's teachers the importance of reading. Yes, yes, we got it ;) At our school, sometimes the ONLY homework we are given is reading. We read a lot in our house...A, LOT!!! So, naturally, this summer we looked for all sorts of programs we could join during the summer.
One of my favorites was the reading challenge from the Spanish Playground. It looked something like this.
The other day as I was making lunch, I gazed at the challenge list that was still hanging on our fridge....I realized that we could actually use the challenge ALL year
long. Why just summer? We read ALL year long, so why not make it fun! In fact, I decided to expand on it and make one of our own with themes instead of places where to read. With a fresh new sheet, we are set off for Back to School. How do you encourage reading in your house?
