I loveddddddd this article "Mami, My Way: My Failure in Raising Bilingual Children" by Verky Arcos at Latina.com. Did anyone else read it? I thought it was honest, and relatable. I too was raised speaking Spanish,so naturally teaching someone else would be easy. Right? Wrong! It is taking effort, dedication, and commitment. I am glad that someone else feels the same way, that I am not alone, that there is hope. I find strength in believing that persevering during these times will make it all worth it. And while these feelings can be shared by many, I think how you decide to move forward and deal with the 'downs' is unique to you, and you only. Only you know what works for you at this time on this day. Even then what is good today will change tomorrow....so be patient!
